South East
Corlann South East provides a range of services to adults with an intellectual disability in Waterford City and the east of the county, in two locations in Kilkenny and Wexford and adults and children with an intellectual disability in South Tipperary.
What we do
Corlann South East provides a range of residential, day, respite, assessment and clinical services to individuals with varying degrees of intellectual disability and dual diagnosis, many of whom have additional challenges including autism, behaviours that challenge and those with physical and sensory disabilities including epilepsy.
We aim for excellence in service provision and to this end, we integrate the best of current research and knowledge to promote partnership with those people who choose our services, their families and local communities and the statutory authorities.
We promote advocacy and accountability in all areas of our services and support each individual’s dignity and human rights.
Our services
The services are divided into three local regions namely
Waterford
We provide Adult Day, Residential and Respite Services – adults aged 18yrs+ with intellectual disability including those with specialist needs such as Autism and Dementia in Waterford City and to the east of the County. We also provide services to the west of the county as far as Kilmacthomas
South Tipperary
In South Tipperary we provide the following services throughout the South Tipperary community care area.
- Adult Day, Residential and Respite Services – adults aged 18yrs+ with intellectual disability including those with specialist needs such as Autism and Dementia.
- Child Development Centres – children aged 2.5-5yrs with complex needs with intellectual disability or suspicion of intellectual disability.
- Children’s Centre Based Respite Service, Clonmel – children aged 2.5-18yrs with complex needs with intellectual disability.
- Children’s Residential Service – children up to 18 yrs with complex needs with intellectual disability.
Kilkenny / Wexford
In Kilkenny/Wexford we operate three integrated services – namely in Ballytobin, Duffcarrig and Kilmacow.
- Each local region is managed by a Regional Services Manager who reports to the Director of Services.
- Services are delivered through a number of service areas located in each region.
- The South East Service is managed by a Director of Services supported by a Service Executive made up of Senior Managers and Heads of Department.
- The Services also have a multidisciplinary team consisting of Consultant Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Social Workers, Speech and Language Therapists, and Occupational Therapist.
